What a wonderful chat I had with Midge Ure. I admit to having been a big fan of Ultravox and Midge from the very beginning. Please watch this and you'll know why.......

With a series of Famous Musicians biographies under his pen - Paul Myers has a wonderful background file of musicians. Watch as he tells what's behind the curtain.....and don't miss out on his music career either. It's all here!
Cameron was underrated as an artist. Fm was a killer band way ahead of its time. Thanks for the Ear Candy
Dunnville Music Festival, 2001--- featuring Carole Pope., Teenage Head, Ronnie Hawkins & The Hawks etc etc remains a favourite musical memory of mine. ICONIC
Good interview...can't believe it's been 4 years already. Only heard of them about 6 months ago and had to see them live. Caught them in Winnipeg at the casino last week... awesome show, definitely did not disappoint. 😊
Brilliant musician, powerful vocalist and guitarist extraordinaire... but most of all, a truly wonderful gentleman ! I feel fortunate to have met him during his "interactive" shows, as he reminisced of those golden magical days we grew up in, with wonderfully told stories filled with colour and character !
Great interview.
The channel name doesn’t quite roll off the tongue 👅
Warren just sent a link to this. Nicely done dude!
I bought FM Black Noise in 1978. What a fabulous album. I like Transformation quite a bit!
cfny Kennedy and Clarence. Went to school with Ivar, and his mom was my home economics teacher. My radio station from 17yrs and onward to 64 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Black noise, surveillance and city of fear rank high on my all time list. Fm opening for rush for the moving pictures tour was my first concerti was in my glory
Saw FM 50 or 60 times with Nash, with Ben....Got to the point where one night Marty walked up and asked us "why are you guys always here"....always great shows
I grew up on Gordon Road, just a couple of houses across from Cameron. Such a decent guy to all the neighbourhood kids. Loved standing in the Sixt’s driveway, beside the huge willow tree, listening to the incredible music. Thanks Cam
Such an amazing artist.
Billy Bee!!!!! <3
Stealing fire- listen for the lyric sheet crinkle in the opening line-one of the takes was tracked in the alley😎 hi L.
This channel is peak boomer tech 😂
I'm 7 years late in finding this interview but what memories it brings back hearing Cameron Hawkins talk about FM & Nash The Slash. I knew nothing about Nash or the band FM when "Black Noise" first came out but I loved the artwork on the album cover & took a chance & bought the LP. The rest is history. From the solo work by Nash The Slash to the music from FM with & without Nash, I've enjoyed it all. Nice interview :)
Greatest BAND EVER , Love you - Jean-Marc :*
So I'm 40 and I just discovered FM only a few days ago and I'm completely blown away by them. I'm happy that Cameron is still alive and making music. RIP to Nash the Slash.
FM are Canada’s best kept secret. Black Noise was superb and sounds unlike any other band.
One of the best Canadian bands of all time.
the box is fantastic
Fairbanks-Morse
I have the first two FM albums and now I feel like I should have all of them!
3:04 POINT!!
As disposable music in the mid-90s continued to fail, the more sense retro music made.
Mr Mackey personified.
Remember when FM radio was the home of experimentation and alternative thinking, those days are long gone.
Those days and more are now heard at NYthespirit.com Come and join us cause that's where we are :-)
amazing

I have watched and re-watched this several times over the past couple of years. Such a great interview. Thank you Cam and David!
You are most welcome. And thank you for being with us. All of us. :-) d
What a great musician and lovely man Cam is. I was fortunate enough to be the singer and harp player in the blues band, called Catfish, Cam mentions early in the video, it was a complete pleasure playing with him and sharing the stage with what I consider prog rock royalty...in a blues band of all things.
He played the cello in the YMCI school orchestra.
Great band for sure. What a great head on his shoulders and attitude towards life.
Love The Box. Once saw them live on a Concert on the (Citadel) Hill in the early 90’s. Fantastic show!
The CFNY Video Road show was phenomenal
One of the most important people to bring progressive music from all avenues and nations to Canadian radio
Still a fan. Great music. Saw you guys in Puerto Rico opening for Saga.
perfection :) he keeps calling himself an idiot or stupid hes no way that
very lovely caring man
Working as a bellhop in 1979/80 for the Holiday Inn Downtown in Calgary, Alberta, I remember taking them and their bags/equipment to their rooms. A big event for a young fan. Love their music.
I still would like to see FM release the soundtrack for the 1979 low budget movie Search and Destroy. The music they created for that movie was fantastic. I could listen to it all day and not get tired of it.
Great interview, Lorraine is a Goddess!!!
It’s a pretty good album.
Did they ever play in the US? I might be the only american that listens to them lol.
Great guy!. I wish I heard this band sooner. The U.S. wasn't promoting their material in the 80's.
I just flew from BC to Ontario this past month to see the Box play two shows earlier this month. The 80s was an amazing time for Canadian music but very few acts actually made it big south of the border and got proper airtime in the USA.
@@patrickstarrfish4526 You need to live in Buffalo or Detroit (or Northern NY...where Viggo Mortensen grew up) to get Canadian radio. A lot of my friends from those areas know Canadian bands...a lot of them come over to play in DET/BFO.
Got to work a little with Cameron in the mid 90s. Great musician and a great human being.
I agree on both points. I've know Cam since late high school & has been a mentor to me ever since.
Ciao! One of my favourite best bands! From Montreal the best city ! Yes the best!
FM IS SO AWESOME, thanks for this!
I'm an old fan, lol, n I LOVE Transformation!!! :)
